With the passage of the Clean Air Act, pipelines are required to transport reformulated oxygenated products containing ethers and alchohols. In some cases pipelines are shipping neat oxygenates that may have effects on pipeline components. API surveyed the pipeline/terminal industry to determine methods for handling these products, proper selection of materials and product compatibilities. This publication consolidates the findings from the responding companies.
