Covers soils of the type used for culture of plants usually grown in domestic gardens, including general purpose soil, premium garden soil (containing additional organic matter), top dressing and top soil. Requirements include organic matter, pH, soluble salts, weed content, toxic materials, solid materials (roots, clay, stone, etc), and delivery. An appendix on soil classification includes notes on soil texture, a classification test, and a summary of advantages and disadvantages of the different textured soils.
