Specifies requirements for local anaesthetics packed in single-dose containers and suitable for dental injection for human use. Definitions, clarity and colour, particulate matter, pH and buffering capacity content and identity of anaesthetic agent and vasoconstrictors, isotonicity, sterility, volume of delivery, heavy metal impurities and information to be supplied by the manufacturer are laid down. Packaging and labelling requirements are also given.
