This Standard does not assign any particular meaning or interpretation to any data element that used representations in accordance with this Standard. Such meaning will be determined by the context of the application. This Standard does not cover dates and times where words are used in the representation. This Standard is technically identical with and has been reproduced from ISO 8601:1988.
