This specification applies to mineral-insulated metal-sheathed (MIMS) cables with or without serving and intended for use in electrical installations at working voltages not exceeding 660 volts a.c. r.m.s. or d.c. The requirements of this specification for approvals purposes are printed in normal type face, whilst additional requirements for purchasing are printed in a lighter type face and with a rule in the margin. The requirements in normal type form a mandatory part of the specification for approvals and for purchasing purposes, whereas those in the lighter face are not mandatory for approvals purposes but form an essential part of the specification for purchasing.
