This Part of this British Standard describes two methods of test to assess the resistance of a paint film to dry heat, such as is encountered in the engine compartment of a motor vehicle. The moderate temperature test is suitable for parts used in rocker covers, crankcases, etc, whilst the high temperature test covers paints for exhaust manifolds, hot spot plates etc.
