This Recommended Practice (RP) discusses test methods for physical and filtration properties of high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) and ultra low penetration air (ULPA) filtration media. Photometric and particle count methods are presented. Applications of this document include acceptance criteria for test methods, test aerosol and particle size, and test face velocity. The RP details methods for testing for resistance to airflow, ULPA filter media penetration, thickness, impact score tensile strength, and other tests. Supersedes previous editions of IEST-RP-CC021.
