This scope of this document is an understanding of the high voltage components within an automobile’s supply chain. It defines what high voltage means with respect to automotive components and provides an overview of the growing high voltage EV market. It briefly describes the common types of high voltage components and how their technical aspects change with differing engine propulsion types (e.g., ICE versus EV). Finally, it looks at components that become more relevant as the automotive market shifts toward more electric and ultimately autonomous vehicles. A corresponding infographic will be developed using the content from this document.
